I live in southwest Idaho but I am quite familiar with our airport: with my camera I've been to 48 states, four countries and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
My primary work the last few years has been concert photography. I fell into it not from the photography side (even though I have been taking or making pictures since I was a child) but from the music side - I was constantly in or around the music business, and I started documenting the life in live performance. The subject is not just a show, not just a person at work, but the energy and emotion of reaching for a goal in front of an audience.
This perspective applies equally well to my latest focus, sports photography - an athlete bringing their A-game has all of the energy of a concert, with more light and less guitar.
After years of touring work, I am now off the road in order to spend time with my two young children while they are still young children. (I still do road work, but I try to avoid the six-weeks-at-a-time gigs.) This has led to an expansion of my photographic work and digital imaging services into areas not yet represented in the portfolio pages.
